Noted filmmaker Don Glut’s horror anthology Tales of Frankenstein starring Mel Novak (Bruce Lee’s Game of Death, An Eye for an Eye opposite Chuck Norris) and Jim Tavare (Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban, I Spit on Your Grave: Deja Vu) wins the prestigious the 17th annual Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Award for Best Independent Film of the year. The Rondo Hatton Awards has been called the Oscars of the indie film world.



The runner-up was All the Creatures Were Stirring starring Constance Wu (Crazy Rich Asians, Fresh Off the Boat) and Jonathan Kite (2 Broke Girls). Honorable mentions were Sundance selection Revenge starring Matilda Anna Ingrid Lutz (Rings), Guns of the Apocalypse, and The Ranger starring Chloë Levine (The OA, Marvel’s The Defenders) and Jeté Laurence (Pet Cematery, The Americans).
Tales of Frankenstein also stars Ann Robinson (War of the Worlds), Beverly Washburn (Old Yeller), Jerry Lacy (TV’s Dark Shadows), Douglas Tait (Hellboy), T.J. Storm (Punisher: War Zone) John Blyth Barrymore, Robert Axelrod (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), Jamisin Matthews, Jena Sims (Sharknado: Heart of Sharkness), Kristian Vega Tirado and Len Wein (Wolverine and Swampthing creator) in his final film. The film features special make-up and effects by Emmy winner John Goodwin (CSI).


The movie is based upon four of writer-director Donald F. Glut’s (The Empire Strikes Back novel) short stories published in his book of the same name:
